How We Can Help You

 Estate Planning

BECAUSE YOU HAVE A LEGACY TO LEAVE
Planning for Everyone You Love and Everything You Have
Do you know what would happen legally – to you, your loved ones, your money and everything else you care about – if something unexpected happened to you?

If you don’t know what would happen, then the first step is to find out, so that you can decide if the current state of affairs is okay with you.
How Do We Help You With Your Legal Life Planning?
We help you to get clear about everything you need to know when it comes to planning for the well-being and care of your loved ones, yourself, your money and your property. If you decide the current state of affairs is unacceptable, and if we both decide that it’s a fit to work together, then we can design a customized estate plan (also called a “legal life plan”) that is tailored to your needs.

The foundation of your estate plan will often include a revocable living trust to which you will transfer your property for your benefit during your lifetime. One of the benefits of a revocable living trust is that, when done correctly and maintained over time, it will help your family to avoid the cost and delay of probate, keep your affairs private, and minimize or eliminate estate taxes.
Family Protection Planning
A Family Protection Plan is a set of instructions, legal documents and even an ID card for your wallet, which you need to have if you have kids at home who count on you for their well-being and care.

If you are in an accident, your Family Protection Plan will make sure your child are never taken into the custody of Child Protective Services, strangers or the care of anyone you wouldn’t want because the authorities don’t have clear instructions from you.  And your Family Protection Plan will ensure your children are raised by people you choose, not someone chosen by a Judge who doesn’t know you!
Flat-Fee Entity Formation And Counseling
Starting a new business in California involves more than simply coming up with a concept. The first step in successfully starting a business is to select and form the entity that best fits your needs and values.

Our flat-fee entity formation and counseling package includes all the tools and education you need to get your company started on the right foot. We will help you select and form the proper entity for your business, create your digital company records book, and provide ongoing counseling and education to keep your business on track.

Business Planning

REACH HIGHER GROUND
Business Succession And Estate Planning
You’ve worked hard to develop your business, and a succession plan is probably the furthest thing on your mind. However, thoughtful business owners know that it’s never too early to think about the end game! We assist our clients in creating customized succession and estate plans for all types of business owners and families, so that you are in control of what happens when you are no longer in charge.

While it’s important for every small business owner to create a solid succession and estate plan, it’s absolutely imperative for business owners with families and children. We will educate you on when it’s appropriate to create a Revocable Living Trust as part of your plan, and provide all the documents you need so that you can have peace of mind knowing that your wishes will be fulfilled.
Employment Counseling
Hiring employees in California is a complicated matter! There are a myriad of California and federal employment laws that employers must understand and comply with to avoid costly mistakes.

We help our business clients correctly hire, pay, and incentivize employees to build ongoing and successful relationships. We assist in risk mitigation when it comes time to end an employment relationship, and spot potential problem areas to avoid employment disputes before they arise. If a dispute with an employee does arise, we develop a response strategy that focuses on achieving a speedy solution and mitigating any potential damage.

• WHAT PEOPLE SAY •

“I hired Virginia to update my will, update a trust, and develop an estate plan. She was recommended to me by a friend and I'm very happy I took his advice. I found her to be knowledgeable, personable, caring, trustworthy, and efficient. She listened to me carefully and advised me very clearly about my options and about the things I needed to do to put the plan into effect. Her rates are reasonable and there were no surprises. Virginia is a lovely person and an exemplary attorney. I recommend her without reservations.”

- John Sutton

“Meeting with Virginia really made a positive impact on the way I thought about having a Trust. I didn’t think I had enough money or belongings to consider it. She walked me through the info, followed with a list of actions steps and has checked in with me to help me stay on course. I am thrilled to have shared that time with Virginia. I feel like she has helped me make the best choice for myself and my family.”
